June 16th – June 23rd.
This is the itinerary I made up. I was working around a wedding otherwise we for sure would have gone down to Dingle as well. Ireland is a fairly small country so you can cover some ground if you’re trying but if you want to soak up all the history you’ll need to slow your pace.
I thought in June it would be fairly similar to our weather here in Canada but it was more like our spring. Every hour a different season. Apparently they don’t get summer until August and their summer is usually only around two months.
We flew in and out of Dublin and went straight to Parkanaur Forest to see the white fallow deer and then to The Dark Hedges, Giant Causeway and stayed in Galway at the Rose House. I took all the travel pics on my film camera. The weirdest part of the trip was when we went up North around Bunbeg, we kind of got lost and ended up in some weird ghost town where they only spoke Gallic which I didnt realize was still spoken hahah. My boyfriend was like “they are speaking Irish’“, I remember looking at him like he had two heads… “Irish? What the heck is Irish!?” hahah totally forgot about the Gallic tongue. So cool!
Galway was a really cool city, Dublin is just a regular busy city. Slieve League was gorgeous, high cliffs like Cliffs of Moher only the journey out to them is way more beautiful. You also have to remember that Northern Ireland is Pound Sterling not Euro.
